Mirah's eyes widened. For several moments, the middle-aged woman could only stare at Arrabella as if she had just seen a stranger.
After working in the Danendra family's residence for years, Mirah was used to seeing how Arrabella was treated. The woman always kept her head down and spoke softly. She would even ask permission to do the simplest things.
But the woman standing before her now was completely different.
Her gaze was sharp. Her voice was firm. And most shocking of all, there wasn't the slightest hint of hesitation on her face.
“But, ma'am, the master bedroom belongs to Mr. Nareswara.”
Arrabella gave a faint smile. “Does it?”
Mirah nodded quickly.
“Then from now on, it'll be the husband and wife's bedroom.”
Without waiting for a reply, Arrabella walked out of the cramped room.
Mirah hurried after her. “Ma'am, wait!”
Arrabella didn't stop. She continued down the back hallway toward the stairs connecting the lower floor to the second floor.
Several servants who were working immediately turned when they heard footsteps.
They were startled to see Arrabella walking by with her hair still slightly wet and dressed in simple clothes.
Even more surprising, the woman was heading straight for the main staircase.
“Where are you going, ma'am?” one of the servants asked hesitantly.
Arrabella paused for a moment. “The master bedroom.”
The servants immediately exchanged glances.
One of them even dropped the cleaning cloth in her hand without realizing it. “T-The master bedroom?” she whispered.
Arrabella heard the whisper but paid it no attention.
She climbed the stairs with steady steps, passing each one without the slightest hint of fear.
Everyone in the Danendra family's residence knew that the master bedroom was off-limits to anyone who didn't have permission. Even family members had to knock before entering.
But that rule didn't apply to Arrabella.
After all, she was Nareswara's wife.
And this house was hers.
As soon as she reached the second floor, Arrabella walked straight toward the master bedroom door.
Two servants who were cleaning the hallway hurriedly straightened up.
“Ma'am...” one of them called nervously.
Arrabella stopped in front of the door. “What is it?”
“Do you really intend to enter that room?”
Arrabella turned her head. Her gaze made the servant immediately lower her head. “Why wouldn't I?”
“But... Mr. Nareswara is inside.”
“Even better. I'll let him know that starting today, I'll be staying here.”
Then she reached for the doorknob. Without knocking, she calmly opened the master bedroom door.
The sight inside was completely different from the small room she had occupied all this time.
The room was spacious and elegant. A large bed stood in the exact center, covered with clean white sheets. A long sofa sat on the right, while a massive wardrobe stood on the left, several times larger than Arrabella's previous room.
There was a private balcony, a work desk, a spacious bathroom, and tall windows that allowed sunlight to fill the room.
Arrabella stood in the doorway.
For the first time since waking up in this world, she felt that this place made a little more sense.
“Not bad,” she murmured.
The servants following her nearly choked.
Not bad?
To them, this room was the most luxurious in the entire house.
Arrabella stepped inside. She placed her hand on the surface of the desk and looked around.
“From now on, move my things in here.”
Mirah, standing behind her, immediately nodded. “Yes, ma'am. And what about the small room?”
“Turn it into a storage room.”
“All right.” Mirah answered without thinking.
“Ma'am...” One of the servants finally worked up the courage to ask, “Are we really supposed to move your things in here?”
Arrabella looked at her. “Of course. This is my room.”
Suddenly, a voice as cold as ice interrupted their conversation. “Who gave you permission to come in here?”
