"Selina. Just listen to me first," Raka pleaded. "This is all just a misunderstanding..." he insisted.
"A misunderstanding?" Selina asked in a cold, flat tone.
"Calm down first..." Raka pleaded again.
"Ughhh...." Once again, Selina let out a weary sigh. "Emotions? Do I look emotional?" Selina challenged, questioning Raka's words.
"...." Raka could only fall silent, unable to answer. Selina did look calm and unconcerned. There wasn't even a trace of emotion in her beautiful eyes.
"Listen to me carefully," Selina said next. "I'm going straight home after this. So finish this party by yourself."
"Make up whatever excuse you want. Say you suddenly had something important to do, or pretend you broke your leg falling down the stairs... As long as you don't mention my name, I'll be very grateful," Selina added.
"What do you mean?!! What about our engagement?!!" Raka shouted, refusing to accept this.
"You still remember that you're supposed to get engaged to me?" Selina asked sarcastically, a mocking smile on her lips.
"...." Raka fell silent. His face showed that he was embarrassed and offended. Even so, he also realized that he was the one in the wrong at the moment.
"Just deal with your own business. It's not as if you've proposed to me yet. I haven't received an engagement ring from you either. So there's nothing left to settle," Selina said firmly.
"Selina!! Wait!!" Raka called after her as Selina shut the door and simply walked away.
"Selina?" a woman called when she saw Selina leaving Raka's house. The woman was Anne, Selina's third-oldest sister.
"Where are you going?" Anne asked. She had just arrived and entered the yard.
"Sis Anne?" Selina was slightly startled to run into Anne while she was on her way home.
"Is the party over already?" asked another woman who had come with Anne. She was Anna, Selina's fourth-oldest sister and Anne's twin.
"What part of it is over? Just look. There's not even a ring on her left ring finger," Anne cut in after glancing at Selina's left hand.
"You can't exactly call it over. But it hasn't even started either," Selina said sarcastically.
"What do you mean?" Anna asked, confused.
"...." Selina gave no answer.
"Selina?" Anne called, questioning Selina's silent refusal to explain.
"Just tell Mom to go to the first room after she reaches the second floor," Selina finally said as she walked past her increasingly bewildered sisters.
"Why? What's in there?" Anne asked, still trying to get an explanation from Selina before she could simply leave.
"If you really want to know, go there too. Aren't you curious... what animals look like when they mate?" After saying that, Selina walked away.
This time, she truly left her sisters behind. The two of them could only gape after hearing Selina's shocking words. Selina was always so polite, yet she had suddenly said the words 'animals mating.'
"Miss? Why are you home already?" a young woman asked as she welcomed Selina home. The girl was confused because her mistress had returned so quickly and all by herself.
"Nina. Do you know what day it is today?" Selina asked.
"Hm? Of course I do, Miss. Today is your birthday, as well as the announcement of your engagement to Mr. Raka, right?" Nina answered enthusiastically.
'Oh, come on... Even Nina knows about the engagement. And it hasn't even been officially announced yet,' Selina thought, annoyed and exhausted.
