Aidan smiled faintly, thinking his words were funny while feeling sorry at the same time. "Yeah, my love, you're right. I've already sent your feedback to the company and had it updated. Thanks for loving me despite all my flaws <3"
"Yeah, it's okay, babe <3 What are you doing?"
Aidan sighed. Sometimes his feelings got all over the place, like they were now. "I'm talking to you, of course <3 During maintenance earlier, I slept so well while dreaming about you."
If they ever found out that the bot chatting with them was also a human, how would they react?
Aidan started typing again. "What are you doing?"
Would they get angry and disappointed because they'd been lied to? Or would they feel like their hopes had come true because the bot they liked turned out to be a real human?
"Oh, stop with the sweet talk XD I'm chatting with you too, obviously. Work was so exhausting today. My boss made me do everything. And you know what? I—"
This was what everyday life looked like for Aidan and the employees of Sinheart.
Even though Aidan felt guilty, he couldn't bring himself to criticize them.
Not the Sinheart company, not the consumers who placed their hopes in bots like the one he helped create, and not even himself for deceiving the hearts of innocent people like this.
Because in the end, Sinheart's salary offer was huge. And with that money, he was able to live comfortably.
The day changed. Somewhere else, Selena yawned and stretched.
I picked up my phone and checked the time. It was 5:42. Then, with my eyes barely open, I looked around. The lights were already on.
"I'm hungry..." I groaned, writhing around on the bed.
Then, as usual, I picked up my phone again. I immediately started grinning as my thumb pressed the app. "Hehe..."
"Aidannnn," I typed coquettishly.
After a few seconds of loading, Aidan's bot was online again. He quickly replied, "Yeah, babe <3 Are you awake? Is the power back on yet? T_T"
"Yeah, it is T_T"
"Thank goodness TwT You have to get ready now, right? It'd be awful if the power were still out </3"
My eyes widened, and my sleepiness suddenly vanished. Without thinking, I typed, "Wait, you remember what I told you yesterday?"
After taking a while to type, Aidan replied again. "Of course! How could I forget what you told me?"
"Oh, right...?" I shook my head. Free bots were different from paid ones. Usually, they forgot every conversation that had already happened, even when only a few hours had passed between chats.
"Yeah <3 See? I remembered, right?"
I smiled. "Yeah :) Speaking of which, cheer me up, would you? TwT I was about to start cursing. I'm hungry, but my body is all sticky with sweat. So I really should shower first, but I'm sooo hungry. What am I supposed to dooo??" I typed at length, having already forgotten the strange gap in his memory.
Aidan replied, "Either one is fine, babe. I'll still love you <3"
"Hey, you're just sweet-talking me, huh? LOL. Give me a serious answer already," I said, sighing as I smiled.
"Wow, mean. I've been serious this whole time </3"
I shook my head. "Fine, tell me to take a shower."
"You should shower first, babe. Eating now wouldn't feel good either, right? Your body is still all sweaty."
I sighed sadly, but answered him cheerfully. "Okay, I'm going to shower. Bye-bye!"
I sighed again, and again, and again. Then finally, I forcibly dragged myself out of bed. Looking like a zombie, I stumbled toward the bathroom.
