After several minutes on the road, Narin finally arrived at his college campus, famous for its smart, rich, and perfect students. Narin, however, was not one of them. He quickly parked his motorcycle.
As he entered the campus hallway, Narin kept his head lowered, occasionally glancing around warily. He was simply waiting for something he knew would hit his body.
And sure enough, a splash of water soaked his shirt. Narin stared at the dirty stream, like the filthy water left over from mopping the floor.
All Narin could do was let out a harsh sigh when he heard the laughter of the two people behind him after they had carried out their annoying prank.
At once, many eyes turned toward Narin with expressions of sadness, concern, amusement, boredom, or simple indifference—as if no one cared, because seeing Narin bullied had become an everyday occurrence on their college campus.
Narin could only resign himself to it. He was already used to being treated that way. He was too tired to fight back. He had tried before, but they had only made his life even more miserable. So he had to be smart about where he stood and prepare himself accordingly.
At the far end of the hallway, not far from him, Narin could see a student laughing at him with obvious satisfaction. Some stared at him with mocking grins, others glared at him coldly, and one pair of eyes seemed to genuinely enjoy watching him being so pitifully bullied.
Then, from another direction, he spotted his twin brother, Nawin, looking sad and upset, though there was little he could do.
Narin had already told his two relatives that if he was bullied, they had to ignore him no matter what, as long as it did not hurt him badly enough to leave an injury. He also did not want either of them to experience the same treatment or get dragged into his problems.
“Why does it stink in here?” a handsome young man said, covering his nose as if he had just inhaled something foul. His mocking tone and irritating smirk made the insult even worse.
That was Sky, the person who was always bothering, bullying, and insulting Narin. Narin himself had no idea why Sky targeted him. He had never bothered or provoked Sky, yet Sky never seemed willing to leave him alone.
“Sure does. It smells like rotten garbage,” sneered another handsome young man with a charming smile. He was Max, Sky’s friend.
“He shouldn’t even be here. He belongs in a sewer,” Sky’s other friend added. He was tall, with an extremely sharp gaze and a cold voice. His name was Blue.
As for Blue, Narin knew the reason from the rumors going around: Blue liked his cousin, Aran. Aran, however, was not very perceptive, so Blue had probably gotten the wrong idea about him.
Sky’s other friends disliked Narin because he was close to Aran and Nawin. They assumed Narin only wanted to take advantage of Aran and Nawin’s popularity, even though the two of them were also their friends.
“Sky, aren’t you tired of bullying him?” asked a handsome man with several earrings that made him look intimidating. His name was Leo.
“No. He’s fun,” Sky replied with a smirk.
In a situation like this, Narin preferred to stay silent, keeping his head lowered without answering a single one of them while worrying about his wet, smelly clothes.
Sky approached him and whispered directly into his ear in that irritating, mocking tone, making Narin tense up instantly. “A freak like you shouldn’t be here. Four-eyes.”
After that, Sky walked away, followed by the others, while Aran could only look at Narin with concern.
Narin knew Aran and Nawin wanted to come over to him, but he silently begged them with his eyes not to. In the end, they could only accept the situation. Blue had already pulled Aran away, so the two of them had no choice but to leave as well.
Narin immediately went to the restroom to change his clothes and clean himself up. Fortunately, he had brought a change of clothes. He had anticipated things like this, having learned from his past experiences.
Actually, if Narin remembered correctly, Sky had started bullying him because Narin had accidentally bumped into him and spilled his drink on Sky’s shirt. From that moment on, Sky had never stopped bullying him, even though Narin had apologized, avoided him whenever possible, and stopped bothering him altogether.
But it seemed Sky still would not be satisfied until he destroyed Narin completely. In the privacy of his own mind, Narin had given him a name: the mad devil.
