Frederick Hamilton, the director of Sunrise Entertainment, nodded in satisfaction. Imagining the flow of dollars that would soon pour into his company's coffers made his eyes light up. Compared to developing celebrities, idols, influencers, or even top models, this live-broadcast program was far more profitable! His company's stock value had multiplied several times over.
How could it not? With a target audience spanning every age and gender, along with the thrilling spectacle of watching someone's subconscious realm, no one wanted to miss this live broadcast.
Human beings loved judging other human beings!
Everything was going smoothly, and the number of investors in the program's fourth season was growing as well. Total investment in Alex's trial of life had doubled compared to the previous season.
Director Frederick raised his hand, and with Sebastian's approval, the large live-broadcast screen was projected onto the wall before them.
"Let's head back to the waiting room. Wouldn't it be more comfortable to watch from there?" the director said, gesturing invitingly.
At that very moment, millions of people using the Live Tik app, no matter where they were or what they were doing, had their attention fixed on their phone screens, which displayed a beautiful host. Wearing a black blazer and a professional gray skirt, the young woman's face looked mature and captivating.
Comments rolled endlessly across the screen one after another. They moved so fast that anyone who wanted to read them had to drag the small bar at the bottom.
K1: [Oh my God, I've missed you for so long.]
K2: [Shasya, you're gorgeous. You've beaten every idol in my heart. I've been growing mold waiting for you to return for the fourth season! Hurry up and introduce that bastard suspect.]
K3: [Hey, I heard he's the idol of X Campus. I hope I won't be biased in my judgment this time!]
K4: [Hey, comment above! Don't make light of this. The victim is dead. We're the ones who have to seek justice for her!]
K5: [So noisy! I love it, I love it. Make your choices, everyone. Me? I just follow the majority vote. Hahaha ....]
Before half an hour had passed, tens of millions of comments had already poured in, with no sign of slowing down. The two million viewers who had been waiting from the beginning skyrocketed into the tens of millions, then twenty million, before fluctuating around eighty million viewers. It was only ten in the morning, yet the audience's enthusiasm was already unimaginable—even during working hours.
Shasa, the live host, finally spoke after being utterly stunned.
"Welcome to the live broadcast of Is He the Criminal? ... Before we get into the introduction of this season's suspect, let's see how many viewers I need to greet. Ohhh ... in just a few minutes, there are already hundreds of millions of viewers?! Your enthusiasm is truly incredible!"
"All right, in eight minutes ... the suspect will wake up and be able to control his life. He is Alex William, a twenty-two-year-old college senior from one of the country's most prestigious universities. Alex is suspected of murdering the mayor's daughter, whose initials are SA. It's believed that because of his one-sided romantic feelings, Alex cold-bloodedly killed the girl. The autopsy found Alex's fingerprints on the victim's clothing, but neither the police nor anyone else could determine the method used to kill her. What do you think? Is Alex William really the actual culprit? Another theory currently states that the victim died of a heart attack on January 21, 2026, at 11:32 a.m. WIB."
"Remember, we need your decisions to determine Alex's fate from this point forward. So please judge carefully. Keep in mind that the court judge's verdict may change at any time if new evidence is discovered. Enjoy the show ...."
