“What are we supposed to do, sir? It’s been three days of searching, but my brother still hasn’t been found,” Gerry complained to the police officer.
“Stay calm. We’ll search along this river because, according to the information we received, there’s a small village across the river. So if your brother was swept away by the current, there’s a chance someone from the village found him,” the officer replied.
“All right, sir. If you hear anything about my brother, just contact me,” Gerry said.
In the end, Gerry decided to go home because it was getting late.
When he arrived, Gerry saw Bella’s car parked in the driveway.
“That old hag’s car. Looks like she’s inside,” Gerry guessed before walking straight into the house.
“Uncle, Auntie, have you heard anything about Galaxy? I’m really worried about Galaxy,” Bella said, her face full of false concern.
“Not yet, Bella. We and the police are still trying to find Galaxy, but he still hasn’t been located,” Arman replied.
“I hope Galaxy is found soon. I’ll help search for him until we find him,” Bella said.
“No need! The police and I are still perfectly capable of finding Galaxy,” Gerry said, giving Bella a cutting look.
“Gerry, you’re home, son.” Rengganis approached her son.
“Yeah, Mom. You and Dad don’t need to worry. The police and I are still capable of finding Galaxy without anyone’s help, especially yours.” Gerry glared at Bella, the two-faced woman.
“Oh, right, Uncle. The company doesn’t have anyone leading it while Galaxy is gone. What if you temporarily put Okky in charge until Galaxy returns?” Bella began putting her plan into action.
“How about Gerry instead, Dad? I’ve already learned how to run the company from Galaxy. Okky is just an ordinary employee. It wouldn’t be appropriate for him to suddenly take over,” Gerry said, making Bella clench her fists.
“But Uncle, Okky is Galaxy’s best friend. Besides, Gerry needs to search for Galaxy too, right?” Bella continued trying to influence Arman.
“As for searching for Galaxy, the police are already helping with that,” Gerry interrupted.
“Yes, honey. It would be better for Gerry to lead the company. It’s better when it’s run by family. Do you really trust Okky?” Rengganis supported Gerry’s move.
“All right, Gerry. Come to the office with me tomorrow morning, son. But remember, you have to carry out this responsibility properly until your brother returns,” Arman said.
“I’m sorry, Bella. I can’t accept Okky as the company’s leader. It really is better for the company to be led by Gerry, Galaxy’s younger brother,” Arman apologized to Bella.
“Damn Gerry! My plan failed because of him,” Bella grumbled inwardly.
“That’s what you get, old hag.” Gerry smiled triumphantly.
Meanwhile, Raya was reciting the Quran after performing her prayers when a sudden groan of pain from Galaxy’s room startled her.
“Oh God, what was that sound? Could it be…?” Raya thought.
Raya immediately ran toward the sound with her father. She was shocked to see Galaxy sitting up in bed, awake.
“Who are you?” Galaxy asked.
“Thank God, you’re awake. My name is Raya, and this is my father, Fathir. What’s your name?” Raya asked.
“My name… What’s my name?” Galaxy looked confused.
“Hey, this guy’s asking about us instead. What’s your name? And where’s your house?” Abah Fathir asked.
“I don’t know my name or where my house is,” Galaxy answered.
“Dad, could it be that this handsome guy has lost his memory?” Raya guessed.
“Insomnia, sweetheart? He lost his memory?” her father asked, as usual getting the word wrong.
“Amnesia, Dad,” Raya corrected him.
“Ah, whatever it is, sweetheart. I don’t understand,” Abah replied.
“If he’s lost his memory, why don’t we give him a name, Dad?” Raya suggested.
“What should we call him? Udin? Karyo?” her father suggested randomly.
“Come on, Dad, pick something good for this handsome guy. How about Mirza?” Raya protested.
“Do you agree to us giving you that name?” Raya asked Galaxy.
“Yes, Raya. Thank you for helping me, you and your father,” Galaxy said, now known as Mirza.
“You’re welcome. I’m going to my room now, okay? Get some rest,” Raya said.
To be continued.
