That morning, Abah Fathir planned to take Raya to the rice fields.
"Sweetheart, come with Abah to the rice fields," he urged.
"In a little while, Dad. I need to prepare some food for Aa Mirza first. Poor thing, he hasn't eaten yet. You go ahead," she gently refused.
"Hey, don't, sweetheart. It's taboo for a woman to be alone in the house with a man who isn't her husband. All right, I'll go later. I'll wait here," Abah said as he sat in the chair in front of the TV.
"All right, Aa, just eat over there." Raya led Galaxy somewhere a little farther from Abah.
"Aa, eat now, okay? I'm sorry, but all I have for side dishes is tempeh and tofu," Raya said as she prepared the food for Galaxy.
"Yeah, Ray. Thanks. You've been so kind to me," Galaxy said, smiling at Raya.
"You're welcome, Aa. Now eat, okay?" Raya said as she handed him a plate of rice and side dishes.
"Aren't you eating, Ray?" Galaxy asked when he saw Raya wasn't taking any food.
"No, Aa. I already ate earlier. Go ahead and eat," Raya refused.
Galaxy began eating. "Did you cook all of this, Ray?" he asked.
"Yes, Aa. Raya cooked everything. Why? Is it not good?" Raya asked anxiously.
"It's really good, Ray. I like it," Galaxy replied, now going by the name Mirza.
Raya stayed with Galaxy until he finished eating, then they went to the front porch to chat.
"Sweetheart, where are you?" Abah called for Raya.
"I'm here, Dad. Why are you shouting so early in the morning?" Raya answered.
"I want to take you to the rice fields. Oh, this young man happens to be here too. Come on, join Abah at the rice fields," Abah invited Galaxy.
"Dad, Aa Mirza is still sick. How can you ask him to go to the rice fields already?" Raya objected.
"It's okay, Ray. If Abah wants me to come along, I'll go," Galaxy replied.
"No, Aa. You should rest at home. Dad, you go to the rice fields by yourself. I'll bring you lunch later," Raya insisted.
"Oh, sweetheart. All right, but remember to keep a safe distance," Abah said.
In the end, Abah went to the rice fields, and Raya continued her conversation with Galaxy.
"Do you live here alone with Abah, Ray?" Galaxy asked.
"Yes, Aa. My mom passed away when I was little, so I've lived here with Abah ever since," Raya replied.
"I'm sorry, Ray. I didn't know your mother had passed away," Galaxy said remorsefully.
"It's okay, Aa. Besides, Mom passed away a long time ago. God willing, Abah and I have accepted it," Raya replied with a sad smile.
"Aa, you really don't remember your name or your family at all?" Raya asked.
"No, Ray. I can't remember yet. But how did I end up here?" Galaxy asked.
"Oh, that. Abah and I found you in the river, so I brought you home because I felt sorry for you. Besides, Abah said you were still alive," Raya explained.
"Thank you, Ray. You and Abah were willing to help me. If it weren't for you, I might be dead by now," Galaxy said with a smile.
"You're welcome, Aa. I'm happy I could help you. After all, people should help one another," Raya said, smiling.
Galaxy felt something different whenever he was with Raya—something he might never have felt with another woman. Although Galaxy had lost his memory, he was grateful that Raya and Abah had helped him and treated him with such kindness.
Meanwhile, Arman took Gerry to the company to introduce him to all the employees. Gerry would lead the company temporarily while Galaxy was away. This infuriated Okky because Gerry was getting in the way of his plans with Bella.
"Good morning, everyone," Arman said.
"Good morning, sir," all the employees, including Okky, replied.
"Today, I'd like to introduce my son, Gerry. He'll be leading this company while Galaxy is away. You can work with him just as you worked with Galaxy," Arman said.
Meanwhile, Okky glared at Gerry with hatred in his eyes.
To be continued.
