Alicia’s face was black as the bottom of a pot. Her hands clenched into fists, and she looked like someone ready to take a life. She let go of Wiliam’s arm and approached Antares.
“Stop playing hot and cold, Antares! I’ll give you a second chance! If you get down on your knees, I might consider making you my backup!” she said confidently.
“Backup? You’re not the only woman in this world! There are plenty of women prettier and better than you, Alicia Wijaya!”
“You… don’t pretend! I know you’ve been deeply in love with me all this time! I don’t believe someone like you could find anyone else!”
Antares merely smiled. Since the engagement party, he hadn’t even saved Alicia’s contact information. From the very beginning, he had agreed to the engagement only because he didn’t want his grandfather to humiliate himself in front of the Wijaya family’s patriarch.
“In love with you? You’re way too confident, Miss! Since the engagement was arranged, I’ve never saved your contact information!”
Antares’s statement truly shocked her. For two years, she had been away, hoping that the Arthur family’s slacker would call her first. She never expected that he hadn’t even saved her number.
“That day, I didn’t fight it because of my grandfather. Now that he’s dead, the final decision is in my hands!” Antares explained.

Besides, his family wasn’t the one that needed funding—the Wijaya family was.
“Miss Wijaya, my advice is to bring that sky-high confidence of yours back down to earth!” he said mockingly.
“Someone like you will never get a woman as good as Alicia. You’re nothing but a useless slacker, not Arthur’s CEO who can make anything happen!” Wiliam shot back.
“Don’t judge a book by its cover. I’m sure you’ve heard that saying before. From the ground, the sky is blue, but in outer space, the sky isn’t necessarily blue!”
Antares continued, “A beggar on the street isn’t necessarily a real beggar. They could be a spy in disguise!”
“You—you’re taking a shot at me?” Wiliam was displeased.
“I’m not taking a shot at you. I’m telling you the truth!”
Wiliam clenched his teeth. In his entire life, this was the first time anyone had mocked him so openly. Before this, people hadn’t even dared cross paths with him. Not because they were afraid of him, but because they were afraid of his background.
“Mr. Sky, I’m not receiving guests right now. So take your girlfriend somewhere else! The longer you stay here, the more I feel like throwing up!”
“Antares! How dare you insult me!” Alicia shouted.
“Of course I dare! Why should I be afraid of you?” Antares narrowed his eyes. “I’ve never been afraid of a woman who only likes to bully people by relying on her background!”
Antares rolled his eyes in annoyance. “What are you waiting for? I’m not good at giving people advice! If you want advice, go see a religious leader or a wise man!”
“You shameless bastard! No wonder Uncle never gave you an official position at the company!” Alicia insulted him.
“It’s not that I wasn’t given one. I didn’t want one!” Antares corrected her. If he asked for it, he could easily get the CEO position. As the youngest son, his father would naturally grant all his wishes.
“Way too confident and acting like you know everything!” Antares sneered.
“What did you say?” Alicia screamed.
“I said you’re way too confident and act like you know everything! Even a monkey would laugh at the sight of you!” Antares replied loudly, of course.
“You’d better focus on that boyfriend of yours! My friends are already waiting!” Antares shoved Alicia aside, making her lose her balance, then walked away without looking back.
