“If you don’t want this photo reaching the executive board, Brother, you’ll have to pay compensation first!”
The word compensation made Matheo’s anger truly explode. If they hadn’t been at KTV Galaksi, he might already have beaten Antares until he begged for mercy.
“Write the amount yourself! No matter how much you want, I’ll give it to you!” Matheo handed him a blank check, but Antares didn’t react at all.
“No need for a check. Just transfer fifty million!”
“Fifty million?” Matheo was sure there was something wrong with his ears. How could there not be? For the past four years, that slacker had asked for at least a hundred million every time. If the Arthur family hadn’t been a conglomerate, he might have drained the entire family fortune.
“Fifty million? You didn’t say that wrong, did you?” he asked.
Antares snorted irritably. “No, I want fifty million!”
“It feels like the world has turned upside down!” Matheo pulled out his phone and immediately transferred fifty million to Antares’s account.
“This money... it’s more than enough!” Antares murmured, occasionally smiling as though he had just struck buried treasure.
“For now, I won’t spread this photo. If you try anything, it’ll spread fast!” he said threateningly.
Matheo merely rolled his eyes lazily and left. Though Antares was a slacker, he wasn’t the kind of person who broke his promises. In the Arthur family, Antares was the only person who could be trusted.
“Do whatever you want!” Matheo climbed the stairs with his girlfriend, passing Antares, who wore a faint smile.
“Donate this fifty million to an orphanage. As usual, leave my name out of it!”
“Yes, Young Master!” Alex checked his phone before leaving the KTV.
“Young Master is such a good person, so why does he hide behind the slacker label?” Alex wondered to himself. He had been Antares’s bodyguard for five years, but he had never been able to guess what was going on in his Young Master’s mind.
“What a boring day!”
Antares stretched his arms and intended to return to his room, but someone he knew suddenly entered the KTV. It was an old high school classmate and Alicia’s loyal sycophant.
“Antares, you slacker! You work at this KTV?” he asked.
“If not for your father’s connections, you wouldn’t have gotten in here. Skip the small talk and get to the point!”
Yudha, the newcomer, smiled mockingly. “As usual, my classmate doesn’t like small talk.”
“If you know what’s good for you, give me fifty million!” Yudha demanded.
“Fifty million? Do you think I’m your father?”
“Your father owns a famous restaurant. Why don’t you ask him instead? Or was your name erased from the family registry?”
Antares’s barrage of questions made Yudha furious. Since high school, he had never failed to extort money from Antares. Everything had changed after graduation. Antares had become increasingly difficult to find, and today was the first time they had met in years.
“Give it to me, or you’ll end up in the hospital like last time!” Yudha threatened.
“Are you done with the small talk?” Antares stepped closer. Without saying much, he immediately gave his old friend a reunion gift—a gift guaranteed to infuriate anyone.
“If you dare show your face in front of me again, I guarantee the bones in your arm will be broken!” Antares threatened.
“You—you dare?” Yudha shouted.
“I’m an Arthur! Do you think I dare or not?” Antares shot back.
“My advice is to leave before someone else throws you out!”
“Antares! You won’t be able to survive in the Arthur family! Without any ability, you’ll end up on the streets!” Yudha yelled.
“Be careful your own words don’t come back to bite you, Yudha Irawan!” Antares smiled. It was a smile that made Yudha furrow his brow.
