“We’ve never even met, and you already know my name?” Darren said coldly.
Issac had no intention of answering Darren’s question. He maintained his cold, threatening expression.
Instead, the man turned the question around. “Is that important? For so long, I’ve held back my irritation every time you pretended to care about my woman. And now we’ve finally met, with the tables turned,” he taunted, a cynical smile decorating his cold face.
Of course, it wasn’t difficult for him to learn the names of the people in her life, especially those who were always around Aleandra.
Darren clenched his jaw, his fists tightening as a powerful anger clearly overtook him.
“Tch! Whatever. Hand Aleandra over, and this will all be over.”
Issac scoffed, rolled his eyes, and slipped his hands into his pants pockets.
“Are you ordering me around?”
“Stop talking so much,” Darren demanded.
This time, Issac’s expression turned serious. Not a trace of warmth remained on his face.
“Didn’t I tell you to just go back home? You’re in the wrong place.”
“I’m not leaving until I take Alea with me,” Darren shot back.
“In that case, you might leave in much worse shape. Ah, no—you might not leave here alive,” Issac taunted.
“She isn’t yours. You’re supposed to marry—”
“I don’t care!” Issac cut him off. “Whoever I’m supposed to marry, Aleandra is my wife now.”
The atmosphere grew even more heated. Neither of them was willing to back down, and both were baring their fangs.
“Crazy bastard!” The words slipped from Darren’s mouth.
Without warning, the man suddenly lunged forward. His fist shot toward Issac, but Issac managed to dodge at the last second. At that, their bodyguards began attacking one another as well.
Issac moved to the side, then immediately grabbed the man’s arm and yanked him hard.
His elbow slammed into Darren’s stomach, making him stagger. Before Darren could strike back, Issac swung his fist again.
After knocking Darren down, Ben ran over, having already taken down his opponent.
“Are you all right, Sir?”
Issac slowly shook his head. “Get my wife out of here. I’ll deal with this crazy man,” he ordered.
“But, Sir—”
“I don’t want to repeat myself!”
Ben fell silent and immediately nodded. “Yes, Sir. I’ll do it!”
Ben quickly disappeared from the area.
“Should I just leave this place?” Aleandra muttered, occasionally biting her nails as she tried to relieve the stress she felt.
Her mind was still completely consumed by the chain of events that had unfolded so quickly and uncontrollably today. She still couldn’t believe that Issac actually wanted her to remain by his side.
“Wouldn’t it be ridiculous if he’d been watching me all this time?” she whispered.
In the middle of her unease, a sudden knock on the door shattered her thoughts.
“Excuse me, ma’am. We’ve been ordered to move you,” Ben said as he stood in the doorway, with several bodyguards lined up behind him.
Aleandra furrowed her brow, then looked outside as if searching for someone.
“Move me? What happened?” she asked.
“There’s been a little trouble, ma’am. For your safety, we need to relocate you.”
“Then where is he?” Aleandra asked.
“Sir will join you once everything is settled, ma’am,” Ben replied casually.
That only made things feel more suspicious to Aleandra.
“What’s really going on?”
