The demon dolls on the satanic altar were filled with the spirits of all the victims Dewi Golek had claimed over the years. Most of the people she killed had their hearts eaten alive. She was utterly merciless, without a shred of feeling.
To her, those victims were nothing more than food for her grand plans in the future.
The purple-robed figure remained silent, watching all the cruel acts Dewi Golek carried out. Her empty gaze made it seem as though she was enjoying the murders too. Finally, Dewi Golek spoke to her again. She was tired of watching the purple-robed figure stand there in silence, as still as a lifeless statue.
“Purple Robe... are you satisfied watching that man die?” Dewi Golek asked. She was now standing in front of the purple-robed figure, who finally answered her question.
The voice that came from the purple-robed figure turned out to be that of a young woman. It was her real voice—not the one she usually disguised.
“Of course I’m satisfied. Every man in this world deserves to die...” she replied flatly, her voice filled with hatred and vengeance toward anything that took the form of a man.
No one knew why her hatred toward male humans ran so deep. She must have endured some terribly painful experience in the past.
“Good. If your hatred for them runs that deep, then you’re just like me. You despise those creatures called men. Because of them, you nearly died along with your entire family in this basement. If I hadn’t saved you and killed those ten men—the ones who have now become my children,” Dewi Golek said at length, as though deliberately dredging up the purple-robed figure’s past to make her feel indebted.
You want me to feel deeply indebted to you, Golek Setan, by saying all that. If I hadn’t been forced into it, do you think I would have done it back then? the purple-robed figure thought before responding to Dewi Golek.
“But if I hadn’t accidentally revived you, you would still be an ordinary, powerless doll, just as you had been for the past four hundred years. You may have been able to change bodies, from an ancient doll to a modern one, but your soul would still have remained trapped inside that doll’s body,” the purple-robed figure retorted coldly, making her sarcasm toward Dewi Golek perfectly clear.
“Then I suppose it was fate...” Dewi Golek replied, breaking into a horrifying smile.
“Maybe fate really did bring us here,” the purple-robed figure shot back curtly, sounding as though she were nothing more than an enemy of Golek Setan.
“You should leave this place now. Tomorrow morning, you have to live your life as a human again. Without the purple robe, as usual,” Dewi Golek said, as though issuing her an order. The purple-robed figure clearly did not like hearing that.
“I know. I live in Jakarta now, so it’ll be easier for me to find victims,” the purple-robed figure replied. Then she turned and walked away from Dewi Golek and the basement.
After the purple-robed figure left, Dewi Golek went to her satanic altar and impaled herself into it. The altar was covered with her children.
“Stupid human. I can’t believe I’ve been able to control you so completely. I should be the one you control. I’m only a doll, after all—even if I am a demon doll that loves to kill,” she muttered to herself, sounding completely insane.
The demon doll began laughing horribly. Her laughter rang through the basement, making the atmosphere even more terrifying. This basement was the headquarters of the demon dolls.
Meanwhile, the purple-robed figure kept walking until she emerged from the basement, seething with frustration at herself.
“If only I could turn back time, I wouldn’t have become this way. But no matter what, I’m bound by that agreement with them. That’s how they’ve been able to control me so perfectly all this time,” the purple-robed figure said silently to herself, consumed by regret.
She kept walking until she entered her room and went to sleep. No matter what else she was, she was still an ordinary human who needed rest to recover her strength.
She lay down in the dark, lightless room, still wearing her purple robe. It was as though she truly never wanted anyone to discover who she was beneath it.
