The purple-robed figure stepped forward, following the Golek Goddess as she floated through the air at face level, her blank stare unchanged. It was a gaze that seemed less like a human's eyes than eyes lit by true human life.
The two of them passed the two-meter-wide demon-worship altar on its right side. Then they stopped in the corner of the underground chamber. For reasons unknown.
In the corner of the underground chamber, a young man could be seen tied to a piece of metal shaped like a massive cross. He was unconscious, dressed in pajamas as sleepwear.
Scattered beneath his feet were human skeletons and skulls, strewn in every direction across the underground chamber. To his left and right stood two human figures crucified just like him. But both figures were dead. Their bodies had dried out until all that remained was bone wrapped in skin, covered by the clothes they had worn in life.
"It's time for him to wake up..." the Golek Goddess said, fixing a sharp gaze on the unconscious young man in pajamas, crucified before her.
The young man looked exactly like someone who was merely asleep.
Purple smoke emerged from the Golek Goddess's mouth and drifted toward him. When it touched his face, the young man in pajamas awoke from his unconsciousness. He immediately opened both eyes and opened his mouth to speak for the first time since passing out. Who knew how long ago that had been.
He had no idea how long he had been unconscious, crucified in that underground chamber.
"Where am I...?" the young man in pajamas asked, speaking to himself in a faint voice, his confusion weighing heavily on him.
His vision was still blurry, his awareness not yet fully restored. He had not realized that the purple-robed figure and the Golek Goddess were standing before him.
Neither the purple-robed figure nor the Golek Goddess answered. They knew he was speaking to himself. Then the Golek Goddess moved and stopped exactly a handspan from his face, allowing him to see her clearly. To a mortal human, her form was horrifying.
The Golek Goddess answered the question the young man in pajamas had actually asked himself.
"You don't need to know where you are right now. Soon, you'll be in the realm of the dead..." the Golek Goddess replied. The young man looked utterly shocked as he finally realized that the golek floating before him was no ordinary golek. It was the demon golek people in the area had been talking about so feverishly.
"You! The demon golek!? The one who's supposedly been kidnapping young men like me!" he cried in terror, especially after realizing that he was crucified, both hands and both feet bound tightly with thick rope. He could do nothing at all except use his voice to speak.
"I don't just kidnap them. I kill them, so my children can have faces like yours, my victims... Soon, I'll kill you too. And your face will belong to the child still inside me..." the Golek Goddess explained, moving closer to the young man and making the sight before him even more horrifying.
She lowered herself until her head was in front of the young man's left chest. He grew even more terrified at the actions of the murderous demon golek, the Golek Goddess.
"What do you want?" the young man asked in terror, struggling against his restraints as he tried to free himself from the cross-shaped metal.
"Obviously, I want to deliver you to the realm of the dead..." As her words ended, the Golek Goddess seized the young man's body tightly with her three pairs of hands, as though she had no intention of releasing him from death's grasp.
Suddenly, the Golek Goddess's head shot into the young man's left chest, piercing through his pajamas. She ate his heart from inside his body. The young man died instantly, his eyes bulging wide. He had no chance to do anything—not even scream, let alone fight back to save himself.
After eating the heart of the young man in pajamas, the Golek Goddess pulled out her white wooden face, now drenched in fresh blood.
Yet her three pairs of hands still clung to the young man's corpse. It turned out that the Golek Goddess's three pairs of hands were sucking out every fluid remaining inside the dead young man's body.
Only after some time did the Golek Goddess release her grip on the unfortunate young man. His body had become completely desiccated, reduced to bone wrapped in skin beneath his pajamas.
Once her victim was dead, the Golek Goddess's body suddenly split apart. From the divided body emerged a golek with the face and appearance of the young man she had just killed. Yet its face still resembled that of a true golek—it could not blink its eyes or move its mouth to speak, just like the Golek Goddess. Her face, meanwhile, had become clean again, without even a trace of her victim's blood, as though she had committed no sin at all.
"My child, go join your brothers and sisters at the demon-worship altar..." the Golek Goddess ordered the newly born demon golek as she turned around.
Hearing the order, the golek with the face of the dead young man in pajamas obeyed the Golek Goddess, the mother of all the demon goleks in that place.
It shot straight toward the demon-worship altar and embedded itself in the altar's body, joining the other young-man goleks, twenty in all.
