Right now, Daisy sat in a chair in the middle of an empty room. In front of her stood Ferry, arms folded across his chest, staring at her with a sharp, scrutinizing gaze.
Daisy hung her head weakly, her body trembling violently. She was afraid Ferry was going to do something cruel to her.
She had seen plenty of bullying cases on television and online. Many of them had similarities. One was happening in an empty place like this—a place perfect for torturing someone without anyone else finding out.
"Did you hear everything I said earlier in this room?" Ferry asked coldly.
Daisy fell completely silent. It felt as though something had lodged in her throat, making it difficult to speak.
Daisy wanted to answer, but she was afraid she might say the wrong thing.
"Why aren't you answering? Are you deaf or something?" Ferry raised his voice until it was nearly a shout, making Daisy flinch in surprise.
It was the first time someone had ever spoken harshly to her. Even her own parents had never done that.
"I... didn't hear all of it," Daisy answered haltingly.
Ferry let out a long sigh. His mood was awful today. He'd been forced to deal with all the girls who kept worshiping him, leaving him exhausted. On top of that, he now had to deal with a quiet girl who might know his secret.
"So you really didn't hear everything?" Ferry asked again, and Daisy immediately nodded rapidly several times to convince him.
Ferry leaned closer and lifted Daisy's chin so they were looking directly at each other.
After examining her carefully, Ferry saw no sign of a lie in the brown eyes of the girl whose lower eyelids were beginning to water.
Ferry laughed to himself. For some reason, he looked like a wolf about to pounce on a small, innocent rabbit—one too weak and helpless to fight back. There was no way this trembling girl who was on the verge of tears in front of him could be lying.
Even though he believed her, he didn't immediately trust this nerdy girl.
"Prove that you didn't hear it," Ferry ordered.
Daisy's eyes widened when she heard Ferry's unreasonable demand.
How was she supposed to prove it?
There wasn't even a single security camera here, so there was no recording of what had happened earlier. Besides, she wasn't a psychic with the power to see the future and the past.
The truth was, she was just an ordinary, shy girl who didn't have a single friend at school. If only she'd known her fate would turn out like this. She shouldn't have gotten curious about the voice in this empty room. She should have stayed in the back garden, enjoying her packed lunch and relaxing.
Then her peaceful life definitely wouldn't have been disturbed like this.
"I don't have any proof. But I swear I'll keep it a secret."
Ferry laughed loudly. "You think I'll believe you just because you swear? I'm not that nice, you know." He paused, then smirked.
"As punishment for hearing my secret, you'll be my slave while we're at school."
"What!?" Daisy blurted out, turning deathly pale. It felt like she was hearing the trumpet of judgment.
The next day, just as he'd said yesterday, Daisy became Ferry's obedient slave, doing whatever he told her.
Now she had to buy and carry Ferry's food order to the empty room in the back courtyard from yesterday. Sometimes Ferry also ordered her to do his homework or take his turn doing classroom duty. If she refused, Ferry would give her a sharp look as if he were going to kill her.
But whenever he was in front of other people, Ferry put on a friendly face like a completely innocent angel, leaving Daisy baffled.
How could he hide his true personality so easily? And why did he hide it? Besides, even if Ferry showed his cold side, she was sure his fans would still like him.
"Hey, you're Daisy, right?"
Someone suddenly called out to her. Daisy tilted her head in confusion because she didn't know the girl.
"Yeah, I'm Daisy. What's up?"
"Reva wants to see you."
Daisy frowned. Reva was her beautiful classmate, and lots of guys liked her. Why would someone so popular want to meet her?
"I'll take you to her. Just follow me," the girl said.
Without the slightest suspicion, Daisy followed behind her. The girl was now heading toward the girls' restroom.
Just as Daisy reached the door—
Whoosh!
A bucket of water poured over her, soaking her completely in an instant.
"That's what you get for someone as lowly as you trying to get close to Ferry," Reva said, accompanied by the laughter of her friends.
