Rayyan didn't get up right away. Instead, he took his phone from his bag, opened several design photos saved in his gallery, and held the screen out toward Stella.
“Oh, right—the designs,” he continued.
Stella had been about to pull the blanket back over her head, but she was forced to turn toward him. “Now?” she replied. “You should do it now, so you won't have to think about it when you go in later,” Rayyan said.
Stella let out a quiet breath. She still wanted to sleep, but in the end, she turned her attention to Rayyan's phone screen. “This design,” Rayyan said, pointing to one section. “It's actually okay, but the title's too big. Make it a little smaller, then leave more space at the top,” he continued.
Stella nodded slowly, trying to remember everything Rayyan said. “What about the colors?” she asked. “Don't change everything,” Rayyan said as he swiped across the screen. “Make the background color a little more neutral, but leave the main text as it is,” he continued. “This design has too much information. If you can, split it into two sections so people who see it won't feel like the design is overcrowded,” he said while swiping to the next section.
Stella studied the screen more carefully. Every now and then, she gave a small nod whenever Rayyan finished explaining a section. “So it's just the layout and colors that need revising?” she asked. “For the most part, yeah,” Rayyan replied.
Stella immediately looked at Rayyan suspiciously. “You said last night there were a lot of revisions,” she said. Rayyan answered, “There are a lot.” “Then why are you saying it's only for the most part now?” Stella asked. “Because you panicked right away yesterday,” he said with a faint smile. “How was I not supposed to panic? Your scribbles almost covered the whole screen,” Stella huffed. “That’s why I’m explaining it now,” Rayyan replied as he swiped through the screen to the final section. “Don't change this one yet. We need to wait for the revisions to the earlier sections before deciding whether this part needs to be changed,” he continued.
Stella immediately nodded slowly. Rayyan looked at her for a moment, as if he still wanted to make sure she really understood everything. “If there's anything you don't understand, just say so,” he added.
Stella nodded to show that she understood. Rayyan then turned off his phone screen and put it back in his bag. “That's enough. Don't work on it right now,” he added.
Stella instinctively furrowed her brows in confusion. She had started to argue because she was worried she'd forget, but Rayyan told her to write it down later, after she recovered. Stella looked at him with an unhappy expression. She still found it strange that Rayyan could be so fussy about the designs while also forbidding her from working on them. When Stella questioned him about it, Rayyan simply answered that he would think about the designs while Stella only needed to think about herself. That simple answer left Stella speechless.
Rayyan then walked over to the small table and picked up the food he had brought earlier. Without saying much, he held it out to Stella. Stella looked at the food listlessly. After briefly complaining that Rayyan was starting to sound naggy, she finally gave in. She began eating the food Rayyan had brought. After finishing a few bites, she took her medicine and swallowed it with some water.
Rayyan, who had been watching her the whole time, gave a small nod, as if he had only just relaxed after making sure Stella had really eaten and taken her medicine.
