After what happened in Sofia's room, Bella immediately left the Quincy family residence and headed to the hospital. Although the Quincy family residence was equipped with a private clinic, she couldn't go there to get herself examined. After all, she couldn't let too many people find out about her fight with Livia. More importantly, the triplets might open their mouths after seeing that their mother was no longer so easy to bully. At the very least, she had to come up with a plan to twist the facts around and pin all the blame on Livia.
‘Where did that bitch get the nerve? She never even dared look me in the eye before. I can't believe she hit me that hard!’
“Ms. Bella, since you don't want to stay for treatment, I've prescribed some medication for you. It will speed up the healing of your injuries and reduce the pain. Even so, you still need to be careful when you eat.”
The doctor's voice pulled Bella from her thoughts. She then looked at the prescription he had given her.
“Oh, right. Of course. Thank you.”
After picking up her medication from the pharmacy, Bella intended to return to the Quincy family residence. She hadn't seen Ethan all day, and she hated letting even a single day pass without doing something to grow closer to him.
However, the pain in her tongue forced her to reconsider. In the end, she decided to return to the Finnegan family residence.
The sun had set by the time she arrived at the Finnegan family residence. As soon as she stepped through the entrance, she saw her parents, Benjamin and Amber, sitting in the living room.
The couple had looked so frustrated and devastated when they scolded Livia at the Quincy family residence a few days ago. But now, they looked completely calm. There wasn't a trace of worry on their faces.
“Oh, Bella. You're back?” Amber noticed Bella's presence. She immediately stood and went over to her, treating her like her beloved daughter as she led Bella to sit on the sofa.
Bella was her only daughter, and she had placed all her hopes on her to give her a luxurious life. Now that Bella was getting closer to becoming the young Mrs. Quincy, she naturally had to give her even more attention.
“How did it go? Has Ethan locked Livia up? I'm sure he'll divorce that stupid woman soon.”
Bella sighed, leaned back against the sofa irritably, and said, “That bitch is still at the Quincy family residence. That despicable woman even hit me!”
Amber was shocked. “She slapped you? How could she do that?” An expression of disbelief appeared on Amber's face. To her, it was impossible.
Turning to face Amber, Bella pointed to the bruise beneath her jaw, then opened her mouth to show her injured tongue.
“She didn't slap me. She punched me!” As Bella said this, a sudden twinge of pain shot through her. She could still vividly remember the pain when Livia's fist landed beneath her jaw.
Then she suddenly remembered something and asked anxiously, “Mom, I only had chin surgery a month ago. Take a look at me. Do I look strange?”
Amber was still shocked by what her daughter had told her, but she examined Bella's face anyway. She finally breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that her daughter's face hadn't changed.
“No. It looks perfectly fine.”
After all, Amber was counting on Bella to become the young Mrs. Quincy. That was why she had allowed Bella to undergo plastic surgery so she would look more attractive. In her opinion, beauty was a woman's greatest weapon for conquering a man.
Bella also breathed a sigh of relief.
“You said Livia hit you. Why did she do that? She never fought back before,” Amber asked curiously.
“I don't know, Mom. That bitch seems to have changed after escaping death's jaws. She even dared to fight back against Aunt Emma.”
Amber frowned. Livia's resistance was not a good thing.
‘That stupid girl might cause trouble for us if we let her.’
She then said seriously, “You can't let her get away with this. You have to make her afraid of you. Otherwise, you won't be able to get rid of her. What's more, she might look for an opportunity to get revenge.”
Bella had already thought of that before her mother told her. She was simply looking for something she could do to make Livia submit to her again.
“What should I do, Mom?”
Amber narrowed her eyes. A sly glint flashed across them as she said, “Didn't she fall from the third floor of the Quincy family residence once? Why don't you let her experience it again?”
Bella's eyes lit up with delight when she heard that. But it was only momentary. Her expression soon darkened as she said, “Security around the third-floor balcony was tightened after Livia fell from there. It would be difficult to do it again.”
After pondering for a while, Amber said, “Then you can use that medicine again. Didn't you manage to make Livia take it for years? After falling from the balcony, she became even more timid. And that medicine triggers excessive anxiety in her, leaving her intellectually disabled. That's why she can't speak. Make her take the medicine again.”
Bella looked as if she had just had an epiphany. She had always given that medicine to Livia in the past. But she stopped when she devised a plan to frame Livia as a traitor to the Quincy family. Now she regretted stopping the medication.
“You're right, Mom. I can use that medicine. I'll increase the dosage. This time, she won't just become mute again—I will have her committed to a psychiatric hospital.”
“Good. That's my girl.”
As mother and daughter discussed their plan, Benjamin remained completely unmoved. Livia was his daughter from his first wife. Even so, he didn't care much about her.
In his opinion, children were born as investments for their parents. If a child couldn't be useful or bring benefits to their parents, there was no need to give that child any attention.
He had once been incredibly proud of Livia when she married Ethan and became the young Mrs. Quincy. But after seeing that Livia had no great ambition to seize control of the Quincy family's wealth like Bella did, he began supporting Bella and Amber's efforts to drive Livia out of the Quincy family residence.
If he could gain more benefits from Bella, why should he place his hopes in Livia?
“Make sure you don't expose what you're doing. Otherwise, our family will be finished.” Benjamin's voice rang out, drawing Bella and Amber's attention to him.
“Don't worry, darling. We can count on Bella. Hasn't she been helping you obtain investment funds from Ethan all this time?”
“Yes, Dad. Trust me.”
Benjamin reached for his teacup and took a sip. “What about that data? You can't leave it in someone else's hands for too long. If the Quincy family really runs into serious trouble because of that data, we'll suffer too.”
Bella smiled and said, “Don't worry, Dad. That person can be trusted. They won't do anything beyond my orders. I've already made plans to return the data to Ethan after Livia is driven out of the Quincy family residence. By then, every member of the Quincy family will see me as their savior, and no one will be able to stop me from becoming the young Mrs. Quincy.”
Benjamin said nothing more.
