Day after day passed so quickly that, before they knew it, the wedding of Gandy’s cousin’s child was only one day away.
As the wedding day drew nearer, the bustle within the extended family grew even more intense.
The wedding would be held on Saturday. Since it was still Friday, both Rimby and Gandy were required to go to work.
They would take Saturday and Sunday off.
Gandy didn’t need to ask permission to take his time off, since he was the owner of the restaurant he ran.
What about Rimby? Rimby, of course, worked under a supervisor. So she had to request permission before taking her time off.
Why didn’t Rimby just stay unemployed at home in her aesthetically designed house?
Most women, once they got married, would generally rely entirely on their husbands’ income.
Especially if the husband’s income was exceptionally high—even high enough for him to become a company owner.
Suddenly, a wife would have plenty of free time to devote to taking even better care of herself.
But Rimby was different.
Even though Gandy’s income had reached practically unlimited levels—understandable, considering his restaurant had international standards—Rimby didn’t like the idea of spending her days as a wife using only her husband’s money.
By religion and law, a wife was free to use her husband’s financial support for anything she wanted.
Rimby also received full financial support from Gandy every month. All of Gandy’s income was handed over to Rimby, and she managed it by turning it into a collection of useful assets.
Even so, Rimby was the kind of woman who got bored easily at home.
Rimby was an “introvert.” Not antisocial. She still needed to interact with other people quite a lot. She just needed a small handful of people to be her friends. She wasn’t the type who was content to stay home without ever going out.
That was why Gandy allowed Rimby to work. The most important thing was that it didn’t put a strain on her mentally. Gandy asked Rimby to build a career around her hobbies.
As it happened, Rimby loved graphic design.
So she poured all her creativity into joining a graphic design studio.
And Rimby was happy to pursue the career she had dreamed of.
Meanwhile, Gandy drew on his wealth of knowledge in the food and beverage industry, pouring in all his knowledge, skills, and time until he became the owner of a highly successful restaurant with international standards.
And Gandy would make everything Rimby wanted come true.
That was the strong foundation of their married life. They understood, protected, and supported each other, so neither of them had a tendency to be selfish at the other’s expense.
Even so, Rimby and Gandy had worried time and again.
They worried that a stumbling block might appear along the path of their marriage, even though they hadn’t been married for that long.
That was why Rimby always made time to have a more meaningful conversation with Gandy before going to sleep.
They talked about anything that crossed Rimby’s mind.
Even trivial things, like a recommendation for the next hair color Rimby wanted to try.
Whatever it was, Rimby would talk it over with Gandy.
That way, the warmth of their communication as a couple would remain safe and intact.
So if anyone tried to undermine the trust between Rimby and Gandy, neither of them would be affected in the slightest.
Because the more tightly a couple was bound by love and affection, the greater someone’s desire to look for a crack through which to sow conflict.
Even family could be behind it.
No exceptions.
