Zevan moved the pistol past Alia's prominent nose, lowering it until it touched the woman's petite lips before stopping right at her chin.
With the black object, Zevan lifted Alia's chin until her face tilted upward. His amber eyes stared into Alia's trembling black eyes, which were covered in clear liquid.
But instead of feeling sorry for her, Zevan only flashed a smirk. “Have you given up now?” he asked. “Even though I already gave you a chance to run, you wasted it. Does this mean you should die by my hand too?”
Alia's body trembled even more with fear when she heard what Zevan said.
“Demon!” Alia spat.
At those words, Zevan fell silent at once. “What did you say?”
“You're a cruel demon with no heart!”
Silence…
There was no answer from Zevan or any of his guards. The only sound was the wind blowing Alia's long hair across her face. And then suddenly…
“Hahaha.” Zevan's laughter rang out, mocking Alia's words. “You're right. I am a cruel demon. So what are you going to do about it, little rat?” Zevan pressed the pistol against Alia's neck, making the woman wince in pain.
“It hurts,” she said.
“It hurts?” Zevan pressed the object in his hand harder against Alia's neck. “I'll show you what real pain feels like!” Zevan stared sharply at Alia, with nothing left to do but pull the trigger. The bullet inside the pistol would pierce the woman's neck.
Then she would die, and his revenge against Adinata Wijaya would be complete.
But no!
Killing every member of the Wijaya family was far too mild a punishment. That was why leaving this one alive was the best way to take his revenge.
Let Adinata Wijaya's daughter live in suffering, and make the old man weep in hell.
Zevan's expression was ice-cold as he moved the pistol away from Alia's neck. Not to release her, but to increase her fear.
“Jo!”
“Yes, sir.”
Zevan left first, while Jonathan and his men tried to get Alia into the car.
“Let go! Where are you taking me?” Alia kept struggling. She didn't want to go with people she didn't know, especially since these people had killed every member of her beloved family.
Unfortunately, no matter how hard Alia fought, she still couldn't break free from Jo's grip. He was many times stronger than she was.
Jo opened the car door and forcibly shoved Alia into the back seat. Zevan was already sitting there calmly. After that, Jonathan got in as well, took the driver's seat, and drove away from the area.
As they traveled to somewhere she knew nothing about, Alia kept her hands clasped together. She squeezed them against each other, doing so to ease her fear, if only a little.
Despite her terror, Alia forced herself to glance at Zevan beside her from time to time. She saw him sitting arrogantly, as if everything within his reach belonged to him, and anyone who dared stand in his way would lose their life without even having a chance to defend themselves.
“Are you done staring?” Zevan asked coldly as he adjusted the black gloves he was wearing.
Alia flinched when she heard Zevan's question. She quickly turned her face away without answering him.
But then Alia was startled again. With his pistol, Zevan touched her chin once more and turned her face toward him. “Heh, woman! You've got some nerve!” he said, revealing his demonic grin.
At the sight of it, Alia unconsciously swallowed with difficulty. She found Zevan's words terrifying enough, but his grin made the fear radiating from him even more palpable.
“We've arrived, sir,” Jo said as he stopped the luxury black car directly in front of a luxurious European-style building.
“Get out!” Zevan ordered Alia.
But when Alia heard the command, she only shifted her body farther away from Zevan. The fear on her face was obvious, proving that she had no intention of obeying his order.
“Didn't you hear me? I said get out!” Zevan's voice rose when Alia remained motionless. All she did was press herself farther into the corner near the car door to keep her distance from Zevan.
“I-I don't want to. I don't know where you're ta-taking me,” Alia stammered.
“Woman, you're really testing my patience!” Zevan got out first, walked around the car, and opened the door beside Alia, startling her.
But that wasn't all. Zevan roughly grabbed Alia's hand and forced her out of the car.
What Zevan did startled not only Alia, but Jonathan as well. His eyes remained fixed on the hand Zevan was gripping tightly around Alia's.
“Sir,” he murmured, his expression shocked.
Meanwhile, Zevan continued forcing Alia along. “Didn't I tell you that you were testing my patience? This is what you get for it.”
Alia winced in pain when she felt Zevan's powerful grip around her arm. “Let go, let go of me! Where are you taking me?” Alia kept struggling as her eyes fell on the luxurious mansion before her. Her entire body shuddered with fear.
The luxurious mansion was brightly lit, yet it looked even darker than a basement.
Alia had no idea where these demon-hearted people were taking her.
