Zevan wasn't affected by Alia's struggles in the slightest, as proven by the fact that his hand hadn't moved at all from where it had been gripping her.
But Alia wasn't about to give up that easily either. She kept pounding on Zevan's hand as it clenched her arm, hoping he would release his grip. “Let me go! Why are you doing this? What did I do wrong? Who are you, really?”
Zevan opened a bedroom door and slammed it shut behind them. He then threw Alia's body onto the king-size bed, making her bounce and cry out in surprise.
“You asked what you did wrong?” Zevan asked.
The moment Alia recognized that cold, heavy voice, she snapped to attention. She quickly got up and scooted backward until she was pressed into the corner of the bed, putting as much distance as possible between herself and the devilish man standing before her.
“You're at fault because you're the daughter of Adinata Wijaya!” Zevan continued, his voice rising.
Alia's pupils widened at Zevan's words, which made no sense to her. “What are you talking about? So what if I'm my father's daughter? I'm proud to be his daughter. My father is the best father in the world!” Alia shouted, defending her father.
“Ha... hahahaha. Tsk, tsk, tsk. What a devoted daughter. So devoted that she's even blind to her own father's true nature.”
“I'm not blind! My father really is the best father in the world. And you can't insult him, let alone take his life just like that.” Tears began streaming down Alia's face again as she remembered her parents and younger sibling lying there, covered in blood.
“All right, good girl. Now, how about you atone to me for your father's sins? Atone for all of them until I feel satisfied and the rage inside me disappears,” he said.
“W-what do you mean?” Alia asked again, because she had no idea what Zevan was talking about.
The man didn't answer Alia's question. He only flashed a smirk and slowly began walking toward her.
Seeing him approach made Alia even more wary of what Zevan intended to do. She curled up and shielded her body with both arms. “D-don't come any closer,” she pleaded, her voice trembling.
Zevan ignored Alia's plea. He kept walking toward her, the devilish grin on his thin lips never fading.
“D-don't come any closer. Please.” Alia wrapped her arms even more tightly around herself. Her eyes and cheeks were already drenched with clear tears that kept flowing from fear.
With the black gloves still clinging tightly to his hands, Zevan seized Alia's arms, making her jolt. Then he yanked her toward him. In an instant, she was in the man's arms.
“Let go, let me go! Please,” she begged again, pounding on Zevan's broad chest. “What are you going to do?”
Zevan's grin disappeared, replaced by a feral expression, as though he were preparing to devour the prey before him. “You're a good, devoted daughter, aren't you? Then show that devotion to your father,” he said coldly.
Riiip! Zevan tore at the shirt Alia was wearing, sending all the buttons flying loose across the bed.
Alia was shocked by Zevan's behavior, which she thought had gone completely too far. She quickly covered the front of her body with both hands. “What are you doing?!” she screamed.
“I'm showing you how to demonstrate your devotion to your father now that he's dead,” Zevan replied casually.
“N-no, please, don't.” Alia begged desperately. No matter what, she didn't want to be touched by a man who wasn't her husband. In her view, only her husband had the right to claim her maidenhood.
At that moment, Zevan fell silent as well. He stared at Alia's chest, barely covered by her undergarments. His amber eyes remained fixed on her breasts without blinking.
Whether he realized it or not, Zevan swallowed.
“Please, let me go.”
Thump!
When he heard Alia's sobs growing clearer, his thoughts scattered. Unexpectedly, Zevan released his grip on Alia's arms.
He stepped back, staring at her with both hands clenched tightly into fists.
Zevan's expression made it seem as though he couldn't believe what had just gone through his head.
“Damn it!” he cursed, then immediately turned and stormed away. He left Alia quickly crossing her arms over her chest.
As her tears continued to fall, she watched Zevan leave in a fury.
