Adrian's POV.
I thought Salma was incredibly loud, but as it turned out, she was pretty professional at work.
“Adrian, which store are we going to first?”
I watched her in my motorcycle's rearview mirror. “We're going to Toko Anugrah Baru first. We'll ask about any complaints customers have when picking up products from us.”
“Okay, I'll just follow your lead.”
I didn't answer anymore. Women were really like that, weren't they? If their answer wasn't “Whatever,” then it was “I'll go with what the man says.”
Toko Anugrah Baru was already right in front of us. I opened my helmet visor, then suddenly got the idea to brake hard. I wanted to make Salma angry. It was weird when she went quiet like this.
Screeech!
“Adrian, did you do that on purpose? Are you trying to kill me young!?” Salma protested while pounding on my back.
I slowly shook my head, then gave her a crooked smile.
“A cat ran across the road,” I said. I chuckled, but Salma put on her usual deadpan expression.
Hopefully, my joke didn't make me look like an idiot.
We finally got off in front of the store, with Salma climbing off first. I took off my helmet and combed my hair back. It was only natural—men liked to act cool in front of women.
“You took forever, damn it. Hurry up before another company snatches the customer.”
I raised one eyebrow. “Relax, will you?” I chuckled softly before getting off my motorcycle.
We walked in together, and a customer was already waiting for us.
“Excuse me. We're from Jaya Perkasa Group. If you don't mind me asking, what complaints have you had as one of our loyal customers?”
I got straight to the point, introducing myself and explaining why we'd come.
“The deliveries have been a little slow lately.”
Salma had already prepared her notepad and wrote down the complaint.
“What else?” I asked.
“Sometimes the delivery service isn't very friendly, so I don't know how I'm supposed to talk to them.”
I nodded in understanding, then glanced at Salma. “Make sure you write that down. It'll be part of our weekly evaluation.”
“If I may offer a suggestion, please increase the stock. Customers at my store often complain because only a small amount of merchandise arrives, and sometimes it arrives late.”
I nodded and looked at the customer.
“All right. We'll handle all of your concerns as best we can. If there's anything else you'd like to say, you can contact me at this number.”
I handed the customer my business card. I didn't want to lose a loyal customer who regularly bought Jaya Perkasa Group products.
At our company, we serve both small stores and large agents because our vision is for all of our products to appeal to people from every walk of life.
Salma had already tapped my arm.
“Are we done?” she asked quietly.
I turned to Salma and nodded. “Yep,” I said.
“All right, sir, we'll be going now. We still have a lot of stores to visit,” I said. Then I bowed to bid the customer goodbye.
“Adrian, you seem really experienced,” Salma said once she was back behind me.
We were on our way to the second store.
“Hahaha… Yeah, you could say that. Why? You have plenty of experience too.”
Salma opened her helmet visor. “Huh? I barely have any experience, Adrian,” she blurted out.
I twisted the throttle harder before answering.
“I meant experience throwing tantrums. I've seen you do plenty of that.”
Take a guess what she did behind me.
She started pounding on my back. Keep it up, Salma—I like it, especially since I couldn't feel her punches.
“Adrian, you're seriously so annoying!”
I closed my helmet visor and deliberately sped up my motorcycle.
“Adrian!!!! I swear, I'm telling Mr. Bayu on you! You keep trying to get someone else's daughter killed!”
I answered carelessly. “Hahahaha, just think of it as a way to blow off steam from all the hard work.”
Salma pinched my waist. Women really did love resorting to sudden domestic violence.
“Oh my God, that hurts!” I cried out in pain.
I glanced at Salma. She was laughing in satisfaction, and I really loved seeing her face like that. It was much better than watching her get angry for no reason.
“Serves you right. You're seriously so annoying.”
Salma stuck out her tongue and teased me.
All I could do was watch her in my motorcycle's rearview mirror. I didn't want to get back to the office anytime soon. Today had really made me smile to myself while spending time with Salma.
